Quick Tomato Based Pasta Sauce Recipe?

I'm going on holiday on Monday and have a bowl of homegrown cherry tomatoes to use up. But every recipe I find uses tinned tomatoes . Do I just substitute tinned for fresh??

They tend to go mushy so you don`t really need any liquid apart from some olive oil.
