I have just had two enormous doorsteps of toasted Cheshire Cheese with lashings of black pepper.

Carbohydrate, fat and salt, with a bit of protein thrown in. Not terribly healthy but utterly delicious!

What's your scrummy, fat laden snack?

Randy, make a cake for McFluff, please.
I'll only be impressed if you made the crumpets...
Question Author
Never had a home made crumpet. I bet they are delicious.
i have a suspicious feeling that Randy has in the past made homemade crumpets but i bet these weren't
The ones today were not home made but yes I have made them and they are real real easy to do!.
Also ace to watch as they cook.
For breakfast I prefer something light to give glucose to the brain and to kickstart the fat burning process, something like rice cakes with low fat cheese, salmon slices a drop of lemon and a sprig of parsley with an expresso.

I leave heavily laden unhealthy snacks for cheat days.

What are lashings of black pepper? I know the powder, the seeds you grind down but am unfamiliar with lashings?
it means a lot of pepper
Question Author
I use a spread called Olivio.

Lashings is lots. Did you not read Enid Blyton, as a child?
No I didn't read Enid Blyton as a child, was a it a book about volumes and weights of different foods? I wasn't born here you see.
Question Author
Well, if you had been born 'here', you might have come across the term 'lashings'. It matters not.

You could google Enid Blyton.
Ham, applewood cheese, pineapple toasties
Question Author
That sounds nice, CaC, except for the pineapple. :-(
Thanks Tilly2, I just did. She was a children's writer who I guess wrote a lot about toasted cheese sandwiches or loved them herself? Either way she seems like she was a great author at a glance but I'm not 9 so will not be buying any of her books for now.
Question Author
I think it was Noddy that liked toasted cheese. Or Big Ears. :-)

....but no pineapples in sight.
OOh I love a cheese toastie. I put onions and worcester sauce on mine!!
You can't beat pineapples on a Hawaiian Pizza! :)
