Cupid, that thread is nearly ten years old - the answer may no longer be true.
I have to admit that I haven't noticed any tea plantations in the Vale of York nor in the neighbourhood of Great Fryup, so I assume that Yorkshire Tea is blended to suit the Yorkshire palate.

Blimey BC, I assumed it was some conglomerate like Unilever.
Lol @ Mamya, you beat me to it ;-))
I was quite disappointed with Yorkshire when I went there. I expected a quaint little village with small country pubs filled with loners reading the racing times, men in flat caps walking whippets, women cross armed talking over the fence about the latest gossip in the village and cobblestones everywhere with the odd sighting of Hovis delivery boys on bikes.

I did not get any of this and have since made a complaint on Trip Advisor stating my disgust at the false advertising of the place.
Tha went to t'wrong shop Lass.
Aye that's reet mamya.
Ther's lovely great rolling hills and plenty ta' see in God's own County in yorkshire. It's where the true Anglo saxons put down their sword... true Englashishman. test your county.
Yorkshire Tea -a blend made to suit the type of water found in yorkshire -but no one really wants to know that do they?
Doubt Olivio does, she's not enamoured.
I found it very bitter. I'll stick with Tetley's.
lol! " I went to Yorkshire and expected a village........"
Yes, indeed as some would;-)
I live in a Yorkshire village! Yorkshire tea is very good and suits the water here.
Stayed in Yorkshire many times, some gorgeous places and met some great characters too - great for us when we didn't want to travel far.
