Sunday. So much for clear skies and wall to wall sunshine. It's still overcast. Not cold though. Yesterday was very warm although it was cloudy.
The lunch charter went very well. On the way down the canal glasses of wine were brought to us on the stern by a lovely lady in the party. At the TA my crewman and i were invited, nay, ordered, to join the party at their table. They were lovely people enjoying an 80th birthday of a lovely lady. We were not allowed to pay for our own drinks even. On the return journey cakes made by the same lovely lady were brought to us, along with more glasses of wine.
Back at Saul, they thanked up profusely and promised to come again, and said they would ask for us to be the crew again. A very enjoyable day.
Tiggy has only just gone to bed after a busy night. He ventured round to the front garden, but didn't go any further.
Morning WBM, that sounds like a good day all round.
No sleep for me thanks to the biting insects of the Costa del Sol. I don't usually get bothered with them when away, this lot must have a taste for brandy.
I'm away to hang out a couple of washings now in the hope that the sun appears eventually then off to work for a few hours, apparently my holiday's over. :-)
Goodly Morning One n All...Kernow has the big happy yellow sunshine...tis pouring into the east wing..i awoke at 5.55 ! its all happening here....is it the 5th.. or just a crazy dubidu?..xxx
Morning all. Awake early due to all the song birds making a terrific din in the garden, I can however thing of many more unpleasant ways of being woken up, so I'm not complaining.
The front lawn needs another trim...have several strawberries filling out .. most of the strawberries were munched away last year by the slugs n early birds...grab one & get another free..yummm...!
Today will be mostly taken up with weeding the patio and trying to reclaim a large piece of the garden that has gone wild during the winter due to it being too wet to work on, it is still drying out but dry enough to work on now. I'm hoping that with a series of paths and some damp ground loving plants I can make it usable summer and winter.
Ahoy.was that you Big Brov??..where has that sneaked down from??..!! Someone has hung a large cloud to air out...tis like a huge grey dovet ... in front of the sunrising ...thats not allowed...

We thought about a wild garden as well, but it is just full of long grass and docks and looks horrible! We looked into creating a wild flower garden but it gets too wet in there. If you dig a hole 18 inches deep, by morning it will have 6inches
