Wednesday. After lots of rain yesterday, the sky is clear and the moon is bright enough to read by. It's not so warm though, the wind is not so strong but has a bite to it.

Te delights of domesticity today, Could do with a JCB for the cleaning.

At least the rain did a good job on the outside of the windows.

We've been pottering around here, packing bags, car etc for a quick escape tomorrow.

Just checked our weather, after two days of rain it will be fine here, but, we will be driving into at least 3 days of rain where we are going. What luck ;-)

A few things left to do, hand out the contents of the fridge and fruit bowl to the neighbours, etc, no use coming back to mold.

Have to visit my "future ex daughter in laws" parents this evening for a pre-xmas thingy. I won't be imbibing and I've warned the youngsters not to over indulge. Big drive tomorrow, don't need lots of stops and crook kids along the way.

Always last minute gits and pieces to do mate, right up to the last second.

A wise move staying off the grog this evening. "Future ex daughter in law" I like that! :o} Does she know that?

She does Boaty. The young lady quizzed me about it a year or so ago.
I explained that the handsome, intelligent, well built, super fit young man of ours could have any young lady he chooses. "So yer better stay on yer toes and behave appropriately".

She is doing well, so far ;-).

Any plans for the silly season?

The thing I like most about this time of the year is my 6 week holiday, the rest of the events are just painful stuff that I need to go along with, and smile nicely.

When I was a kid it was magical, then it wore off.
When I had little kids it was magical, then it wore off.
When I have grandkids I'm sure it will be magical again.
But 'til then....

I'm going to disappear for a moment or two, Mrs Oz will be stressing about some fine detail and the young fellas offer to pack the car, very thoughtful of them, but I'm sure it could be re-packed in such a way as to see things through the mirrors.

Hee hee boys, stacking neatly works much better than tossing from a distance ;-)

Due to a) having no youngsters around this time and b) the not so flash weather outlook, we've decided to do Xmas lunch on Boxing Day it'll be far more conducive to over eating, Saturday !!

Hi Seekz, we're off to "redneck" country in the morning, Gympie Qld.
Older brothers place. About 12 hours from here. Will go to Brissy (about 10 hrs) stay there and do the last two on xmas day.
