Why shouldn't troubled families from stressful inner-city Hackney get a chance to recharge their batteries here?

Reward for failure. Wasn't it Hackney that used to send young offenders on Caribbean holidays? Must be sickening for law abiding people, especially the law abiding poor who struggle to pay their council tax.

But they might look around and think, If we work hard we too could live in a place like this some day. Might just be the incentive they need.
They may look around and think " we'll come back next week and do these houses over) lol! No both Sandy's statements and mine are wrong -they will think " idiot Council giving us a free holiday lets make the most of it" I hope the local shop stocks up on Lambrini and White Lightening.
The thing is could a 'working family' in Hackney rent it for two weeks?
I think this sort of thing just breeds resentment of what other people have. Most of these families will not have the education or opportunities to ever have a place like that of their own, however much they aspire to it. The Council should be spending their money on funding Education courses for children to catch up rather than giving them a holiday.
Or they might look around, sandy, and say, '2 more 'black marks' for the country retreat or shall we go on a spree and try for the Caribbean holiday'.
In the olden days they would have been set to Australia -one way ticket lol!
And then we would kick them into shape Retrochic
Shame you lot cant.
Whats wrong with sending them to a hop farm holiday. Family bonding, fresh air and useful employment.
shame on this village for not wanting to help their fellow man and making them welcome.
Definitely nimbyism. The facility will used by foster families as well, and lord knows foster parents need all the help and support they can get.
Too right Hc & Dee Sa. Not every family in need are scumbags. Shame some high and mighty can't realise that.
And families at crisis point doesn't mean their kids are out robbing their neighbours. Many a good family has needed help from social services.

You work hard all your life to achieve a decent standard of living, a nice home in a rural location away from the inner city type locations and then the Council dumps the inner city on your doorstep. Is there no justice?
Do no tourists visit your area then, Baldric?

Very few, we're on a minor seafront road between two Tourist Towns, so most follow the signs and stick to the main roads.
The ones that do stay pay handsomely for the privilege.
I bet they will wreck it.
Who do you mean Samuraisan?
If the scheme works and families including parents/foster carers and children are helped toward a better future that can only be a good thing.

Not all who find themselves in difficulty are thieves and vandals.
The families won't have free reign and appropriate staff will be onsite.
