Search for this line might help:
"ice cream maker" "built-in freezer"

That answer is based upon the descriptions used by 'Which?' here:

I've got the magimix which is pretty good.
I can't quite make sense of the question but as far as I'm concerned Magimix and Cuisinart are the only two contenders.

im looking for an ice cream maker that does not require me to freeze the bowl for 8-10 hours beforehand ...one that freezes on its own automatically

thanks all
If you look up 'home made ice cream ' on the BBC food/recipe website, you can make ice cream without a machine.
I stand by my previous answer, Magimix and Cuisinart are the only two I would consider.

Self refrigerating ice cream maker. Mr ratty got me one last year to replace our ' bowl in the freezer' type one. I am a convert to this type as it's much easier, if you want to make ice cream you can have it made in half an hour not have to wait 24 hours for the bowl to freeze. It's a lot bigger and 10x the price (the freeze the bowl ones can be had for around £25) but it was a gift. I can't recall the name although I know it's German.
I, too, have a Magimix. Fiddle to put together before use, and very noisy, but it does the job.
