when i make pancakes i use plain yoghurt,but i have ricotta i am trying to use up,can i use this instead of the yoghurt,i am putting blueberries in it,and do i just follow the recipe the same as i would with yoghurt

You'd brobably have to add milk if using ricotta. But why not Google for "pancakes ricotta"? there are loads of recipes.
They would be too heavy using ricotta, yoghurt is 'live' and used as a slight levening agent where as the fermentation has taken place in the cheese, so it's not offering anything accept as a binding agent - you could use a spoonful or two and add an egg, I suppose - but they won't turn out like your yoghurt ones.

i did use the ricotta and added milk and blueberries,they turned out lovely by the way.

blueberry ricotta pancakes were on an american tv show a while ago.
