Love it. My mum used to soak it in milk, no idea why. Has to be lambs liver.
Lambs liver, fried with onions to make the gravy. Mmmmmmmmmmm. Don't fry it too long or it goes tough.
I'm surprised it was soaked in milk... and not rum.

I can't stand the stuff Ummmm. My Mum used to cook it with onions. I think she used to toss it in flour before she cooked it, although that could be completely wrong. It's really good for you apparently.
Great with mash and beans.
I don't like lambs liver, has to be pigs liver for me. Thinly sliced and fried until black and sticky.

Nice with rich gravy, mash and peas.
love it, and the onions have to be crispy Mmmm
I think it was dipped in milk, then rolled in flour.
You soak it in milk to tenderise it. I cook it with onions in gravy. Best meal I ever made with liver was in Spain (where it is very cheap). Fried it with onions in oil. Potatoes were not cooking quick enough, si I took them out of the pan, cut them up, then fried them lightly with the liver and oil - delicious! Never been able to do it properly since!!!
I think soaking in milk, especially with ox liver, makes it taste milder. Lovely fried with onions and bacon. Very good for you- lots of iron and Vit A.

Carol, liver is still cheap as chips.

What is the strongest tasting and the weakest tasting? I think I'll go for the weakest to start with.
Lambs liver is very tasty, ox liver is a bit stronger.

I'll go for lambs then.

I'm thinking, because my sons don't like liver, that I'll do steak (braising) and onions. Then I'll fry the liver and add at the last minute. Would they work together?

Lambs Liver is the mildest, then Pig's then Ox is the strongest. Cover in seasoned flour and fry the onions first then add the liver but don't over-cook.

I won't over cook it. I like mine slightly pink.
Liver doesn't go pink, lol.
Ox liver has a little more texture and tastes a little stronger, I love a good liver and bacon casserole!! Mmmmmmm
When I cook liver it is slightly pink in the middle. Thin cut and flash fried.
