What's for lunch?

I seem to be managing with breakfast and evening meal choices, but I do struggle with lunch ideas.
If I'm at home at lunchtime I usually will have soup or a couple of boiled eggs or perhaps a jacket potato, but if I'm out, I can't think of something that I could take out with me apart from a sandwich and as I'm not buying bread at the moment then a sandwich is out of the question.
Any ideas please?

Salad,jacket potato , tomatoe pasta
Question Author
I suppose I could take a small container with salad in but I don't like cold pasta or jackets, so the salad is a good choice.
Noodles?
Soup in a flask?
Question Author
Not cold noodles ummmm as I said earlier I don't like cold pasta.
Soup in a flask is a good idea sibton
Asian noodle salad, with crispy salad veg and chicken or prawns.

Tabbouleh with feta or chicken

Couscous with roasted veg and herby lemon dressing

Wholemeal wrap with tuna, guacamole and crisp lettuce
Wraps then...as Eckles says.
Scuse my spelling Eccles...
No worries Umm.

missprim, don't sweep all noodles into the same category as pasta. Rice noodles and bean noodles are very different to wheat noodles.

If unsure try rice vermicelli to start with and make a dressing from 1tbs soy sauce, 1tbs ime juice, 1 tbs dark brown sugar and 1 finely chopped red chilli. Finely shred, cabbage, lettuce, carrot, cucumber, radish, onion, kohl rabi, whatever and combine with noodles.

Top off with chicken or prawns a few peanuts some fresh corainder and pour over the dressing.

It might sound like a lot of hassle but it is a brilliant salad for using up odds and sods in the fridge.

Sorry, I know it sounds easy to make suggestions but what I failed to mention was not only do I not like cold pasta, I don't like fishy things like tuna and prawns. Also I don't like food that is even the teeniest bit spicy.
Like the idea of wraps though but not guacamole or couscous or peppers.
Making choices is hard for me as I'm a very boring basic food type of eater.

Thanks for your suggestions Eccles you are trying hard to help but I've never even heard of Rice Vermicelli and Kohl rabi and couldn't eat chilli, radish, onion soy sauce or peanuts. Sorry.
It really has to be plain boring food with hardly any flavour, no salt, spices or herbs.
you remind me of me miss prim, I tend to stick to a sandwich, if I am feeling exotic I will put some lettuce in it ;)
No worries missprim, I'm sure you'll get some suggestions.

I love food with big flavours!
Question Author
I know you do Eccles as I've seen food choices from you before and I wonder if perhaps you are a chef.
Lol cazz love the exotic lettuce Go mad and add a tomato :-)
I had two pints of lime cordial, and some Rich Tea biscuits.
One energy bar, two cream crackers & a pint of tea ... could eat Shergar right now :+)

Note to JJ and sunny-dave read in full before posting and take the topic into account (Weight Loss & Dieting)
This way you wouldn't be suggesting biscuits and horses :-)
I do indeed work with food, as well as producers and campaigners.
sorry

I'll let you off JJ and hope you come back to this as I wanted to say how much you made me laugh on a different thread earlier but didn't say anything in case AOG had a pop at me. x
