I bought one of these mixes when they were reduced after Christmas. It will soon be out of date so I ought to cook it. I wondered if I could perhaps make it in a couple of loaf tins instead of in an 18-20cm round cake tin.Has anyone tried making smaller ones and how long did you cook them.

in situations like this bake at the given temp but adjust the time....basically, bake them till they are done....test with a dry skewer and if when poked into centre of cake it comes out clean your work is done!

oops forgot to say...smaller cake = less cooking time

Turned out beautifully. Delicious Yum Yum!!
Or, cook it and cut it in half, wrap it well, it should keep. I found a half of a Christmas cake from a couple of years ago in a tin, wrapped in paper and foil, when we were moving house! Tasted fine, alcohol helps it keep.

I found some cupcakes in a tin on top of the fridge. They had grown hair.
