The eggs that Mums gets from her chickens, in her garden.

It's safe to eat them raw, yes?

They don't have salmonella, or anything ... do they ???

Of course it is safe. I probably wouldn't give raw egg products to a pregnant woman or someone very sick, but I use raw eggs all the time in ice cream and homemade mayonnaise.
Well I don't know what the current thinking is, but when I was a kid dad always kept chooks and we often had a raw egg beaten in with milk and sugar and it never did us any harm.
nope they not safe, you'll open one and cock will jump out at you

And now I am going to have even more eggs because my baby Mags started laying today!!!! :))))))
I'd forgot bout using them that way doc, mum always put a couple of eggs in the mash they tasted great
I always add eggs to my mash too.Our local shop used to sell lovely big fresh double yolk eggs supplied by a friend of his who always had a glut.He has had to stop selling them because Trading Standards threatened him with prosecution for selling unstamped eggs!!!! Absolute madness.

Well, there's no boy chicken, so I guess they're unfertilized.

If you've got a nice supply of fresh free range eggs, take as many as you can eat!!!!!
sure they'd be fine.

why not try them balut ?
Question Author
I don't go through many eggs. One or two a week, maybe.

Like paddy (when he was little), I occasionally whisk one into a glass of milk, with some vanilla extract.
Question Author
Ankou ... don't ... you'll put me right off eggs!
Well you learn something new everyday...people eat eggs with nearly fully developed chickens in them (balut). Do they eat the beaks and legs and stuff? I imagine the meat would be very tender, but not much of it. Anyone actually eaten one?
