Anyone else find the television advertisement for shampoo, or conditioner, where a young woman washes her hair in a jungle pool while a painted savage extols the merits of the product amusing?

Amusing, yes, but only the first time simply because you are not expecting it
Is this him sandy ?

As janzman says... only the first time.
No.

No reaction to be honest - but since almost all the TV I watch these days is pre-recorded, I am unlikely to be troubled by it any time soon.

Jollyroger66, that's him.
I guess it's the incongruity of the scene and the accent.

That might pass for 'Cut Glass' where you are Sandy, however .... .. ... .

I believe they were looking for Brian Sewell to mouth the words of the actor but he was unavailable due to illness.

'Savage' sandy?

I was once extensively criticised on AB for daring to use that description, and that was when I referring to some repulsive criminals, who admittedly happened to be black.

But then it did not just have to be about criminals, black, white or sky blue pink, this was stated when I dared to enter a thread titled 'School trip to the Mosque' which incidentally attracted 176 replies

/// AOG only posted this as a rant against "savages", you're really not playing the game correctly at all
ladies. ///

This of course stems from the fact that I once condemned 3 separate cases of Black gang rapes on young defenceless girls, plus the fact that I dared to call them savages.

Just type 'savages AOG' in the AB search engine if you care to read more.

That is interesting andy, do you happen to possess a recording device that eliminates all the commercials?
I presume Andy records, then fast-forwards the ads.
I'm always surprised that so many on here actually watch the ads and notice what's going on....we always "mute" and ignore 'til the programme resumes....or fast-forward on recordings.

Now if everyone did that there would be no such thing as free telly.

Let's not go down this road shall we - it doesn't lead anywhere.
AOG - //That is interesting andy, do you happen to possess a recording device that eliminates all the commercials? //

I don't - although I believe they are available.

As Sipowicz advises, I simply fast-forward through the ads, ignoring them.
I don't think that it's supposed to be amusing. It's supposed to make us rush out and buy the stuff. Now, what's it called, again?
Question Author
AOG, in the context I used it I meant 'Noble Savage'.
Bookbinder, television advertisements that amuse, or exasperate, could be doubly effective if that helped them stay in the viewers mind.
sandyRoe

That's okay then Sandy, although I can't see why you didn't put that in the first place.

Has I have already pointed out, one has to be so careful these days what one says or puts, there are some around that can't wait to play their full hand of race cards.

I could have told my accusers that, but it wouldn't have made any difference, and I don't suppose it will in the future.
He just looks bored witless to me.
It's horrible stuff - it always seem to leave residue in my hair. I like my hair to be squeaky clean - not with this stuff.
