Good Afternoon Everyone.

I assume you're all ready for mother's day, or, if you're a mother, you're waiting in anticipation.

We thought we'd put this up as a gentle reminder to those who have forgotten.

All the best

Can we have a 'nothing' option? It's ok for kids to make a card at school or nursery, but once the kids are older it's just a hallmark holiday IMO, very little thought goes into it. It's jut another marketing scam designed to guilt people into spending money on tat. Be nice to your mum all year round instead!!

For one day of the year you can spoil your mother. I wish I could spoil my mother she died when I was 11 That was 50 years ago and I still visit her grave !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sorry about your mum Millie, but my mum honestly feels the same way that I do! We are very close, but stopped celebrating Mothers day when I left primary school - her choice. Like I said, I think people should be nice to their mums every day of the year.
I'm going to not mention how God is as likely as the tooth fairy for one day... She'll like that.
Wont be doing anything
Nor me. I don't really see my Mum. Although my son stays with her once a week.
Why is there no option to say we are doing nothing for our mum? Not all mums deserve to be pampered in any way and it winds me up that everyone assumes that you must honour your parents regardless of how useless (or worse) they may have been.
What if we're getting our mums more than one thing? I'm getting my mum a few little things but we are also having lunch with my gran (her mum) which we don't often get a chance to do.
Sorry, but my Mother died in 1938,and my much loved MIL died in 1952,so I don't have either Mother to give anything to!
MrVeritas- we were always told in primary school that technically it's Mothering Sunday, not Mothers Day so you can show appreciation to anyone who mothers you or looks after you in anyway!
Yes my mum also died in 1979 aged just 34, I will be visiting her grave, I think about her every day. I am now a mum to two boys or men I suppose now and I agree that as long as they are good to you and show their love all year round there is no need for gifts or cards on Mothering Sunday, it has become too much of a pressure on youngsters....just a bunch of daffodils is lovely. I hate the way the rubbish CDS are advertised just before Mothers Day, its all about money!!
Like many others on AB I don't have a mother now to give a card to or buy a bunch of daffs for, she wouldn't want fresh cut flowers when she was alive nor would she be impressed now, she preferred to leave flowers growing in her garden. I have sent my Godmother a card, one thats says 'To my Godmother on Mothers Day', she never had any children and is 84 now and so she appreciates my cards.
Once again I can't vote in an AB poll, hey-ho
To be honest, not a lot cos it's her birthday the following week (as well as my husband and brother in law's) and I'm skint.
Nothing, My wife will visit her with the kids and some chocolates

I`m too busy studying, it`s Cheltenham next week!
There's no option in your poll that suits my choice, Editor.

(just thought of this, If I had shortened your title and called you Ed, someone could think your name might be Edward lol. just being silly Ed :-) )
Just wish like many others that I had a Mum to spend time with or buy flowers for.
Like others have said, this needed a nothing, my mother has died option.
or even ...
A new will ...
A good fry up in the morning : )
An actual mother.. would be good...
