too difficult to pronounce two As in a row.
not much, both seem a bit pretentious & together even more so
One of my daughters is called Ria (an old friend of my mum's used that as a short form of Maria) - beware, because when she was a kid nastier kids spelled it 'rear'. Otherwise it's a good name. Alanna does not go well with it because it requires a definite stop to sound it correctly. You need a consonant.
Not much
I like Ria but not too sure of Alanna.
Ria Elena sits better with me rather than to As
Oops not two As ( sorry)
Both OK. But they don't go together. Alanna King sounds better than Ria King in my opinion.
I prefer Alanna King too but I don't like that way of spelling Alanna
Ariana King sounds nice and then you get a bit of both in one name!
When choosing names for children, try to work out what nicknames they're likely to end up with at school.

Anyone with the initials ARK is likely to get called 'Noah'. R King will become 'Sparky', whereas A King might just become 'Pain'!

Individual given names can lead to nicknames too, with Ria possibly becoming 'Birdy' or 'Long Neck'.
Alanna Ria sounds like an STD - not really a name you'd want to burden a child with, particularly a daughter.
in my experience of naming children, the middle name barely ever gets used
Having said that, you can have whateve you want! One of my childrens middle name is squidge!
is this a reprise of
" Your name is dire, Ria"
OR
your name stinks - Ria King....

Ria Alannna - seriously now - the 'jerk' ( no not the writer or author silly) for the litte hitch is - - "glottal stop"
there is no letter for this sound in English but it
Bo''ul - there are two t's in Bottle and I didnt hear one...

French has it: remember the president of France, Fraan-swa olland ?
and not Franswarzolland? - the hitch is a glottal stop -

et is not carried across - ay - weel ( et huile ) and not aytweel
but est-il ( ay - teel ) is (carried across)

Arabic - Hamza - reversed 2. [(ء‎)] - usually perches on a vertical stroke ( aliph)

and so this is why boys and gurlz - ( says PP trying to educate the AB masses again) africa and australia - - - is africa' andostralia
and is never "africa rand dostralia" ( intrusive 'r')
WHEREAS
westminster rand Newham IS correct because there is an 'r' at the end of Westminster. At least there when I do it
I’d be very concerned about the child being called Rear.

Alanna on its own is OK but could be shortened to Alan by a bully or Alarmer.

Rear Alarm
Alanna-rear

Sorry but neither are very flattering.

Why on earth are you asking? You will get so many conflicting answers on here you'll be back to square one. Chose a name you like and go for it - what other folk think is neither here nor there. Names will always be shortened - friend called her daughter Denise as she thought it wouldn't be changed. She's been Denny all her life.
chrissakes maggie this is a wind up: that is why he is asking
I liked my bit about the glottal stop....
next time it is both barrels of a schwa

Charlotte I like a lot but DOES I fear rhyme with harlot - but quite honestly so what? TTT ( here) doesnt seem to mind the obvious rhyme of penis-brayne. He ( TTT) is at it again with the House of commons, did you see? - Dirty boy!
You simply can't shorten my name, so it gets added to. I prefer the added version. My husband never did call me by my name except on the day we got varied.
I suppose it's Ok if you're pretentious. Have you not considered Chardonay, Kylie or Snoop Doggy-Dog?
