i hope that you are well, do you have any thing planned for today?
i am getting my new, well second hand table delivered this morning, all it needs is a good clean going on when i looked at it in the BHF shop. so that's my foray finished in buying stuff for the flat, now it looks nice and how i envisaged it months ago.

I had a pleasant time last evening, a friend has bought her first flat, and not long moved in, so some of her stuff is still in boxes, but for all that its a good place and i am sure we will go out there again in the coming months. The weather was atrocious though, constant rain, so it meant getting a cab there and back, especially as it's not the easiest place to find.
Morning Emmie.

I've been awake since 1:30am. Little one and I have caught someone's cold - I'm not too bad, just a bit of a sore throat at the moment. Miles was really snotty yesterday so I hope they don't turn him away from Nursery today.

I'm glad your place is now how you envisaged it. Ours is beginning to take shape. OH did some of the more awkward plaster-boarding in the Utility room yesterday afternoon. Hopefully FIL will be able to come round later and help, but he's technically on Jury Service at the moment, not that he's done anything remotely Jury-Like in the last week or so. Yesterday they chose a bunch of people and sent four home - one of whom was the FIL. Hopefully he will have received a text last night to say he's not needed today.

My work's network is down and so I can't get a head start with the work just yet which is a swizz. I think we're going to change internet provider because for some unfathomable reason EE block VPNs, which is totally incongruous in the age of home-working.

morning Lcg
Wotcher! :-)

i have been awake since about 2am, though i dozed for a little while
poor wee man, lets hope the nursery don't refuse him today, i guess they might if he looks set to spread it around.
Glad to see that things are progressing on the house and that the FIL will be able to help when he can.
are you with EE then?

take care of your son and yourself - not much can be done if you go down with the lurgy...
It's only very mild symptoms, Emmie, and we're over the worst. I did get him some Multivitamin suspension but he won't touch it.

that's good to hear, i had a cold, felt very unwell before Christmas, and wondered if i had covid, but after ending up in hospital for AF related problem, they did a test and said i didn't have it.
I got tested several times in hospital back in May. Every time they moved me from one place to another (AEC, AMU, Respiratory Ward) they tested me again.

so what happens if you can't get online... do you scrub the working day, perhaps its time to look for a new supplier.
Question Author
i haven't come across anyone who has covid, nor has had it, apart from Minty, who has long covid, which must be difficult to manage.
Getting online isn't a problem, I can't use the internet all day. It's the VPN that's getting blocked so when I try and use one of our work IT systems I keep getting messages saying that I can't connect to the network or this file is temporarily unavailable - please contact your system administrator. It's really annoying and I'm not the most patient person.
I had it in November, Emmie, but my symptoms were very mild
Question Author
that's annoying, especially when you are trying to work from home.
Question Author
then you were one of the lucky ones, not to get covid too badly.
I was lucky considering the whole office went down with it and they all had it worse than me, even the much younger ones. I put it down to taking high-dose Vitamin D. The Dr I was working for at the time told me to start taking it at the start of the pandemic.
Question Author
i asked my GP about taking Vit D and he said perhaps start taking it in the autumn/winter months, will see....
Question Author
my problem is i already take a multitude of prescription meds adding more just makes me nervous in case they interact with one another.
