Not Han Solo by any chance!
Avoid him like the plague.
Do you actually have any evidence that he fancies you, because you could be imagining it.
Threaten him with sexual harrassment suit
Was going to suggest that you tell him you already have a girlfriend whom you're mad about ~ but better not as he may view that as more of a challenge!!!

I assume the problem is because you don't return his affection? If you want to let him down gently, be polite, but icy. Don't laugh at his jokes, answer him with one word answers, make an excuse to leave the room every time he come in - he will get the message eventually.

If you don't mind too much about upsetting him because he upsets or frightens you, just say out loud "I really don't want to talk to you, so unless your visit is owrk-related, please don;t come into my office again." Say it calmly and clearly, and that again should work.

in fact i do know he actually fancies me as other work collegues tell me as he has told them how much he really likes me
Ugh!!!! I work with people in the same age range as my parents and they are sooooooo chauvernistic (sp?!) and make sex jokes all the time its grim ... in any case one of them was making these remarks about what sort of "girl" he wants to work here and was being really icky so turned round to him and told him "M***** you are the same age, actually older, than my dad, stop being so disgusting" he seemed a little bit put out and all but think it did the trick ..... so in any case - getting to my point honest!! - if you point out to him that he is the same age/age range as your dad and he is being creepy maybe he'll wake up to himself and stop bugging you .... failing that introduce a 6ft plus big built bloke to him as your BF ... that may help ;-)
ooohh thought of another one!! introduce him to your dad!!! LMAO ... sorry but good luck honestly and keep a diary of all things he says/times he comes to talks to you/things he says about you to colleagues just in case you need to have some evidence

Go and see your HR department, tell them the problems and ask them what they think you should do.

If its making you uncomfortable you really need to tackle it head on!
