my wife had a notification of a trojan on her laptop.she pressed remove and a panel came up WINDOWS ADVANCED SECURITY CENTER (american spelling).it then asked for her card details for a payment. she now cannot remove it or go to any page or any app.
can anybody tell me if this can be removed?

david you will probably get more help if you re-post this in Technology where the PC experts look.
never answer anything unsolicited unless your 100 % certain where it is from neverever give your card details either, just ignore it. how to remove it is beyond me.
please do as prudie as advised , the people with some tech knowledge will help when they see it

google has lots of answers about this

I'm sure that link is reputable, but I can't help noticing that it is asking you to
a) change a windows registry key
b) download an exe and run it.
Those are risky things to do without first verifying independently that the advice is sound
Using another laptop or PC – Google as much as you can from the info available (on the trojan).
Almost certainly you will be able to implement a fix from info. on the web.

thank you for all the information. a friend got rid of it ( don't really know how) i had to leave home beause my dad passed away and he had repaired it by the time i came home.
