It's Saturday! No frost, no rain, no wind, but a bit chilly. I'll settle for that!
Have a happy day everyone.

So would I, but we've a dose of the tropical stuff right now, hot and humid !! Yuck !! how are you, boaty - have the canals frozen over ?
Question Author
Morning/evening seekz. Nope, the canal is fine, it's not that nippy yet.
I'm not too bad thanks seekz. Coping, is the word I think.
Could do with a bit of the tropics here right now! :o}
You know people say that, but it's pretty ordinary really - the clear heat is better though 40 odd degrees takes your breath away and that's not real flash either, but the humidity is very wearing when you've not grown up with it.

I guess 'coping' is all one can do, isn't it ? your family are being terrific I imagine and all your friends here are very supportive - it's a great network for that

That's true seekz. I remember it well from Malaysia days.

The family have been good, especially my daughter-in-law. She has been a tower of strength. I call her my shepherdess. She's been looking after me. She's easing off a little bit now, the more I'm coping the more she's letting me! A real star.
Morning WBM and Seekerz. Hope you are both well. It's a dry day, so far, here in Sussex. Have been over to the Isle of Wight for a few days. It was lovely as always. Thought of you Wbm, I know how much you and your dear wife loved the IOW.
Question Author
Morning jan xxx We did indeed. My wife only went the once but fell in love with it and wanted to go back. Where did you stay, not by chance the Lorron Hotel?
No, I always stay in Shanklin in the old village. I love it and love doing the coastal walk to Ventnor.
Question Author
Wonderful! It's a lovely part of the island isn't it.
It's especially lovely out of season before the busloads of polyester wearing grockles arrive to spoil the place. Hey ho, back home now and getting ready to go to Zumba class this morning. Have a good day Sir.
Question Author
Grockles spoil it every time don't they! Have a happy day my dear girl. xxx
Oh wbm, you called me a girl. I'll love you forever for that. xx
Question Author
:o} So you are. xxx
Good morning wbm.
Lovely to see you posting again regularly.Hope you very well.
Kind regards dg
Good morning everyone- thin layer of ice on the car just but I think it might turn out to be a nice day:)
Good wbm..light snow here and freezing fog..looks like the pertified forest!! =) xx
morning all slight frost here on the suffolk coast
Morning all cold, dull and looks like rain here in the southern shires
Bright, crisp and dark down here.....and about 5 degress me thinks.

poor seekerz having to endure the humidity.

Hong Kong is one of the worst places for that as in summer it never really gets above 38 but the humidity is 94 or 95% and at night it only drops to 33 or 34 and the humidity remains the same....at least in places like Houston or the Arabian Gulf/Red Sea, the temp drops back a lot more and gives a little relief.

Hottest feeling places for me have included Lagos (stench factor), Muscat (42 and high humidity), Kuwait 51 and fortunately dry, which is what happens on the Texas coast when the 40+ heat comes in, the cause a continental high with much lower moisture...that is "bearable"

Coldest -34 in Canada.
A beautiful, but cold day in the English Lakes today. Have a good 'un everyone.
Just read your comments about the Isle of Wight.Never heard the word grockles before so googled it- a tourist esp one from the Midlands or the North of England.I suppose I'm still a grockle! Been there once and loved it.
