Oh dear! Did you not think of this before you got pregnant?
my thought exactly
i dont think there will be much that you are 'entitled' to at 12 weeks i'm affraid. You'll get help when he/she is here and a grant a little before to help pay for bits but not much now.

Gonna be hard trying to convince an employer to take you on when they know you'll be leaving in about 5 months to go on maternity leave!

thanx chelle x
I think that those first two replies are disgraceful , why reply at all ?? some help you two are!! Do you not understand that somethings in life arnt planned. someones asking for advise and all you can say is "oh dear " i bet she feels right at ease now!! hope you two are never in an unplanned situation and need help !!
Well said Tammy jo
This is an advice forum not somewhere to air ur political views. I suggest "another-view" contact their mp with their gripes, and also want to congratulate them on there perfect lives!

Naylor1401 i cant offer u any help at this moment as im not sure on what you colud claim, but hopfully someone (who knows what they are talking about) will be along soon, good luck and congratulations!! xx
I have no idea what you'd be entitled to until you get maternity allownace, but I have been told that the best place to go is the Citizens Advice Bureau, who can tell you exactly what you're entitled to and even help you to claim it, I have been told that they are much more helpful than the job centre. Good luck!
In these days of putting a pound in a machine for a condom and free contraception from your doctor, there should be NO excuse for unwanted pregnancies.

Now the taxpayer is expected to support her. That's the only thing that's disgraceful about this thread.
Did she mention it was unwanted????????
You will only be able to work for approx 5-6 months before babe is born.....am sure you can find 'temporary' work to see you thru and not be a drain on an employer.
Well if she planned it and had no means of support then she is more stupid than I originally thought. No wonder she is getting "critisisam".
There is a huge difference between "unplanned" and "unwanted", this girl is just looking for support and advice there is no need what so ever for you to judge her in this way. Everything u have done "another-view" always been planned has it, like my mother used to say "if u dnt have anything decent to say then dnt say anything at all"!!!!!
You obviously have no help or support for "Nalor1401" so why dont u take ur little perfect planned life, and go and live by ur book!!!!!!
" like my mother used to say "if u dnt have anything decent to say then dnt say anything at all"!!!!!

Was your mother dyslexic?
If she was would you have something horrible to say about her????

You dnt have any support for this girl wot so ever so why bother in the 1st place?? Like i sed go bk 2 ur perfect rule book life and enjoy!!!!!
Sorry, I can't understand you. Is your keyboard broken?
I agree with another-view.

As tax payers, any "benefits" and Maternity Financial support is going to come from US...the tax payer and in my book this gives, another-view and anyone else on AB, to put their views forward.
being just 12 weeks pregnant does not entitle you to anything more that anyone else.

You may get MA and a surestart payment towards the end of your pregnancy.

In the meantime unless there is a reason why you cant work i dont see why you cant get income support.

Of course, you dont say what money your husband / partner brings home so this may affect your claims too

I can't give you any advice regarding benefits naylor, but I hope you receive all the help from family & friends you'll need to bring your baby into the world.

Ignore the forthright, nasty comments & I hope all works out well for you in the future. -x-
