Is it just me or does the weather map here look worryingly similar to the late lamented Hurricane Bawbag that our Scots pals had a couple of years ago?
Friends in Bermuda have really suffered. Loss of life and serious injury for some of my friends family.
I was not amused when R4 reported that 'Bermuda has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world'.........little comfort when you granny has a broken shoulder and no means of getting to the hurricane damaged hospital.
I am sure Slappy will advise us accordingly. I just wonder if the Met Office is being straight up with this one as it wasn't really showing for down here 48 hours ago....I haven't looked since. Will go and do so.
25mph gusting 40 for Truro, Tuesday morning, Newquay 30 gusting 50. Saltcoats the same as Newquay, Ayr 35mph and 55, Londonderry 23 and 40, Edinburgh same as Truro, Blackpool read Ayr.
Not certain where it's going to go, off work this weekend last track I saw was fairly North but that could change. It will impact all of us it's a big bu&&er, 60 knot gusts seems reasonable. The track is all important where the eye goes will dictate how much it impacts. Sting jets, the thing that caused so much damage in Glasgow are quite rare and not likely last I looked the General consensus was no sting. However I can't be certain
Maybe maybe not Tony, depends on the track of the centre, best evidence is the eye across the north of scotland depending on changes before it gets here it may still track way south or way to the north you just don't know. You can predict all you like you can model all you like, till its gets here
If you're still around, Lard....glad you have spoken to her....puts your mind at rest a little.
A long way to go til back to normal though....but she's safe....x
It'll hit the north of Scotland gusts 75mph+ in the north west, up to 65mph over the rest of Scotland, as far south as Yorkshire and cumbria up to about 45/50 mph might catch the odd 35 to 40mph gust further south....
