his kids,,,

By boyf has 3 kids with two other women. We are totally loved up and are together for long term and he always says how he wants me to meet his kids soon (we been together 6months, doesnt sound long but we know it is for good) I feel we should wait longer before i meet them, they are aged 6, 9 and 10months so obviously it will have effect on the older ones. Ive said i'd prefer it until we move in together so that they have an actual place to come to meet me and spend time with me and their dad, for some stability, but he said it wouldnt be a problem. Also, he doesnt have a great r'ship with the mother of older two and she is already funny about HIM seeing them, for no reason as he is a wonderful father, so ive also been thinking i dont want to cause anymore problems. We arent arguing about it or anything and i have explained of course i want to meet his kids-i'd LOVE to, and for them to be part of our lives, but just in time when we are more stable. i personally think i am right - what do you think??

I don't think you need to live together for you to meet his children.
If he feels the time is right, why not go for it?
It might be easier for them to meet you somewhere else, where they don't have to be around you constantly (like a park, a fair, a pool, etc.)
It might be a bit awkward for them to meet you for the first time.

However, if you absolutely do not feel ready for it, don't let yourself be pushed, either.

I think it would be a little bit off for them to not meet you until you have moved in with him - think thats a bit late. I would meet them now, even for just half hour,to say hi,then you go again and leave them with their dad.Just so that they can get to know you slowly.

I would suggest doing it when you feel ready. I just went to watch the step son play football to start with. Just take it slowly and be guided by how the children feel. I have always only tried to be their mate and it works well.

In 6 weeks time I will be their step mother and they are cool about it.
