Much has been said about the brainwashing of our children by 'nasty left' teachers, here two prime examples have been exposed.

One a member of The Socialist Workers Party is described as a special needs teacher, it would seem he is in need of some sort of 'special teaching', in the correct way to conduct himself.

The other well what can we say about her when she comes out with disgusting terms as this ‘Who wants to p*** on her grave?’

Both should be given their 'marching orders' but I doubt they will.

I was watching the news and saw that many of the anti Maggie protesters would not have been born when she was PM.
Would you prefer only ideologically 'sound' people that share your values are allowed to teach?

That sounds rather Stalinist don't you think?

If she is so fond of the Soviet Union, perhaps she should have been there when mass murderer Stalin ruled?

She wouldn't have been given the freedom then to protest, she would have soon been shipped to Siberia or disappeared without trace.
In an ideal world I would only want perfect people to teach my children.

Must try harder at raising perfect children!
She carries a communist flag, wears a palestinian scarf and drinks fair trade coffee. On her bedroom wall is a picture of Che which she stares at all night long dreaming of the rebellion as she listens to bob marley.

let's be gentle on her, it's not easy being a freedom fighter.
This is how children are brain washed from the cradle. Should they be sacked - definitely. Their behaviour in school and out should create a role model for the children.
Well another nasty left wing socialist teacher is about to go off to work until for the day to brainwash some children, so I don't have time to comment now but I'll be back tonight to read the comments
Children need to taught the truth, even if its inconvenient to their Daily Mail reading parents.

Japanese kids are not taught about the atrocities that were committed by their grandparents, or weren't up until recently. Are Argentinian kids being made aware of the appalling things that went on under previous dictators ?

The list is endless. Unless we educate people properly and that is by giving the left-wing as well as the right-wing versions of history, how are they ever going to understand anything ?
This is a typical Mail 'monstering'.

Do you think Right wing drama teachers stop lessons and say 'right now kids lets look at how free market ideology defeated the evil trade unions' ?

But you're ready to believe that left wing teachers will try and indoctinate children with their political beliefs

Telling people they can't do their jobs because of their politics is McArthyism

Shall we bring teachers before a panel of you all and let you ask them 'Are you or have you ever been a member of the communist party?'

Help me out here...

Is this a serious post or are you being tongue in cheek?

Do you support the idea of teachers being sacked for their political beliefs?

If so - would you agree that teachers who support, say, the BNP should be sacked?

How far would you go?

\\\ Unless we educate people properly and that is by giving the left-wing as well as the right-wing versions of history, how are they ever going to understand anything ? \\\

Agreed.

However, my idea of education based on my experience and understanding of education was the teaching of tact, good manners and a senses of respect.

I do admit i am not of this generation.

What we have seen from this "teacher" is crass, irreverent and does not set a good example to his students.
Not only that, but by taking to the streets to jump on someone's grave and show delight in death she has proved herself to be a well-balanced individual of reason and intelligence. Exactly the sort of person who can teach children in an impartial and fair minded way showing them both sides of the story.
Teaching history should be about the facts, both good and bad, and NOT selective bits and bobs that suit the teacher's political beliefs
I don't believe that I ever knew the political leanings of any of my teachers. Providing they were competent at teaching their particular subjects, I don't believe that my parents were too fussed, either.
I'll help you Sp.

it's not their belief's, it's their actions.

No in my mind they can belong to any political party they wish, but they shouldn't openly demonstrate their views.

Had the teacher been a member of the BNP or the EDL and was seen openly demonstrating for their cause, he would soon have been sacked.

When one is employed in certain jobs, they should be prepared to accept the protocol that goes with that job.

Yes they should be allowed to teach, as should people who thought Margaret Thatcher was the best thing in the world. The more diversity of opinion and ethos children experience the less one sided and crazy they become I think.
Neither I nor any of my siblings are anywhere near as left wing as our parents, probably because we have socialised and spoken to people from all walks of life and persuasions both politically, religiously and socially. I think it's a mistake to protect children too much from the undesirable elements of either society or human behaviour, or they become unable to deal with the real world and this is a perfect example.
For what it's worth, I wouldn't want teachers lined up and asked if they were members of the BNP either.

However if I was a headteacher wouldn't want a member of the BNP working for me because I'd expect to have teachers of other racial backgrounds and I wouldn't want to employ someone who thought his colleagues were inferior to them because of their racial background

Most certainly if they are seen to be openly protesting on behalf of the BNP.

In fact if there was ever a case the left and certain ethnic groups would be demanding their sacking.

Tell me sp would you also not be demanding the sacking of these two teachers if they happened to be members of the BNP openly protesting on race issues?

What would be your thoughts if say two members of MI6 were seen on the streets protesting about the deportation of a terrorist, should they also be allowed to keep their jobs?
Jake, //Would you prefer only ideologically 'sound' people that share your values are allowed to teach? That sounds rather Stalinist don't you think?//

Come, come. You can’t have it both ways.
