I remember when I was tiny I would get in the bath with my dad - till I was about 3 or 4.
Buut I was talking to a work colleague yesterday and she was saying that she still has a bath with her son, and he is 10. I thought that was quite odd, or is it just me??

Which is why we have Andrex......
I have just stopped letting two of my grandsons share the bath with me, they are both four, it was the awkward questions from them that made me stop.

Where did Eccles answer go??

Bazile - easy mistake lol
Quite a few years (or decades ago), a friend of mine told someone at school that she and her brother ( who was 8 years older) had baths together and 'he plays with me'. Someone told a teacher, the teacher told the police, the police swarmed the place! It was such an innocent statement, they were literally playing. But the stress the family went through!?! I wouldn't want to be in that position.

I used to have to bath with my mum, my sister, even my friends (not all at the same time, don't get idea's!) until I was about 12 years old, I didn't get a choice. But I would not have been allowed to be naked in front of a male
Lol, bubbles, he was in the bath that long I doubt there were any bubbles left. Being in the nip doesn't seem to bother us racoons very much, when I'm in the bath, someone will always come in and start annoying me, if not then the dog will. :)
Apologies if my answer was considered advertising.

Toilet paper was invented for a reason though.......
I truly don't think at age 10 it is acceptable to bath with the Mother.
I am sure SS would be alerted should it become general knowledge.
Just imagine the ribbing the lad would have from his pals if they got to know about it.

Nothing wrong for a small child to hop in the bath with a parent but not beyond 3-4 in my opinion.
My friend's little boy is six and I think they still bath together. They have a very open life and the children are growing up uninhibited. Not like my life at all. I had to overcome a great deal when I was growing up. I did not know at all what was happening to my body. I think it is much better to be open about it - they will never suffer my inhibitions. When I asked my mother questions she just dismissed it with vague answers which told me nothing.
If a ten year olds classmates found out he still bathed with his mum, he would no doubt be bullied.
Totally weird!
My five year old asks to get in the bath with me, I tell her no. I used to do it, when she was 2/3 but not now, it's just not appropriate.
A boy of this age bathing with his mother is just, in my opinion, weird.
As above, what would his friends say to him, should they find out?!

Agree with you all, v odd to me.
Should not be occurring. He is not a baby any more and needs to understand individual rights to privacy including his own.
Very odd!

I sometimes let our girls in the bath with me, the oldest being 2½. But to be honest, I think I'll stop that soon as she prefers the whole bath to herself!

Until very recently she would run in and out of the bathroom when Mr P was in the shower, but we've now decided that she's getting too old to see Daddy naked so stopped that.

I totally agree, the more I think about it the more she likes to keep her children babies. They all still drink out of what I would call 'sippy' cups - the plastic ones with spouts?
Sounds like you've hit the nail on the head there, Smow.

Sippy cups at 10?? Poor kid. Maybe she's scared they'll spill stuff?
I'm surprised at 10 he'd get in the bath with his mother.

Nothing wrong with nakedness though but bathing together is a bit too intimate.
I think a woman allowing her 10 year old son to bathe with her is disturbing. Are you sure the 'sharing a bath' was not meant in the context of getting in after the child had finished ? Surely a 10 year old would not want to get in a bath with his mother? - my boys ran around the house naked until about the age of 7 -8 when all of a sudden I was not allowed to see them even in their underpants. I reckon the mother has issues -its like when you hear of woman breastfeeding their children until they are 5 or 6 years old - this woman needs talking to.....

Think my son would have run a mile if i'd suggested that at age 10! or even 6/7 probably.
