Hi
Has anyone ever heard of/won anything from Publishers Clearing House please?
I have received an email to say that along with 4 other people I have won the September draw......nice prize money!!!!
Asked for bank detais etc and to open up an account with a finance house.......????? payment was supposed to be made by cheque.......any ideas please?
Is this a scam or is it for real?
I do enter lots of competitions on the internet.
Your answers will be very appreciated, thanks

I don't know of any prize draws that require you to provide bank details. I would steer well clear of this if I were you.
I would err on the safe side and assume that anything that asks for your bank details has to be a scam.
Scam alert don`t go there teech!!
Completely agree with baitress.
If they're paying you by cheque, why do they need your bank details ?
Steer clear.
Google them - you'll find loads.

This one's good: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2007/07/ pch.html
Have a read about them on Wiki

Looks like an American company ..the minute you read the words "Readers Digest " ..drop it like a hot potato !
Forgive me but you didn't really think this might be real, did you?

.........six figures involved hence my query!!!!!!
Aw well the dream was nice while it lasted. :-(
think its a lottery thing that was done on internet as six lottery numbers are given.
thank you both

make that thanks everyone!

if you received an email telling you that you had won a six figure amount when you enter lots of internet competitions would you not check it out catron?

last month I won 250 pounds worth of vouchers for a swish clothes shop. from an internet competition .......that was real and I enjoyed the shopping, thank you very much!!!!
I used to get regular flyers from PCH, and have bought many items from them, with no problems.
However, PCH changed their name, some while ago, to something else that I cannot remember, and I have not had anything since.
If this is a recent communication from PCH, asking for your bank details, etc., I would stay clear.
Readers Digest Prize Draws are bona fide. I know people that have won big prizes from them. Tom Champagne is the man in charge.
NEVER give out your bank details to an email. It'll be phishing.
