BIP Financial Services & Consultants out of Pittsburgh PA

I received a letter today from this company w/ a legal looking check, stating that I was a prize winner from the Readers Digest, Publishers Clearing House Online sweepstakes & internet games. I did call them with the claim number regarding this letter and was not asked for any personal information nor to send any money to them...etc. They asked me to deposit the check and wait for it to clear the bank then call them back....is this a scam???
