road tax
Income tax on the state pension. So unfair after paying tax all your working life.
Inheritance tax... so unfair when so-one else has already paid tax on this all their lives and so do those dearly beloved left behind.
Why is the TV licence unfair or ridiculous?

VAT on tampons.........only a man could think they are a luxury and not a necessity......
agree about vat on tampons, agree on inheritance tax, agree tv licence is unfair (I never watch BBC and if i had the option to opt out i would). Also think stamp duty shouldnt kick in on properties on the 'lower rungs' of the property ladder.
road tax is unfair too (sorry albaqwerty, missed your answer at first!)

Why not scrap this and put a higher tax on fuel - the more you drive, the more you pay! simples!

(and it wouldnt be so bad if it was spend on things for motorists, ie roads!)

council tax

the so called poll tax was much fairer

why should a property with say 4 adults living and benefitting from services pay the same as one with two adults?
All you Answerbankers will be in favour of the Broadband Tax - coming soon...

small local businesses should pay a lower rate of corporation tax than the likes of BT, and all the massive corporations
well the most ridiculous tax is of course income tax. Temporary of course, I think we've finally got shot of the Napoleonic threat! Anyway it must cost almost as much to collect as it raises!

TV licence is one of the more sensible ones, and offers excellent value.

The problem is that very rarely do they abolish a tax or restructure, they just add more levels of complexity.
Insurance premium tax is the one that I can't get my head around. Why, when you have to have insurance, do they then tax your premiums?
