Take it to the Bank of England and they will exchange it for �1 in currency of the Realm
it would be worth more than that to a collector as these have been discontinued since the early 80's
I wouldn't bet on that Mattk. Been doing a little research and I can't get solid evidence as our firewall blocks a load of sites. A 1970 old style note is only worth about �1 so I doubt the new ones are more than that. But I 'd be suprisd if you got much more than the �1 of its real value.
It's still currency here in Sunny Scotland - unless you mean a *really* old �1 note. I hate the things. Grrrrrr Send it to me and I'll spend it for you.
They sell them in 'The Lanes' in Brighton for �2.
