Has anyone else had trouble in their dealings with the Electricity Supply Company nPower?? I switched to this company on 6th March 2002 and since that date I have not received a single correct quarterly electricity bill. I pay by Direct Debit and am always in credit with the company and, quite reasonably I thought, once a year there would be a settling up of my account with surplus monies being credited to my account. No such luck, the only refunds I have received have been made after I have written to Andy Duff, Chief Executive of this company. The Power Industry watchdog Energywatch could make no headway with nPower and didn't know what to advise. Any advice that anyone out there can offer will be greatly appreciated.

If I wasn't so cynical I would put it down to maximising the charging rate. During the past year prices of gas and electricity have been going up and down according to the wholesale energy price. Therefore if they submit a bill to you when the price is at a peak all previous units would be charged at this higher rate. My bills are also not being received regularly.
I use nPower, and with uncanny accuracy, my meter will be read and an estimated bill will arrive the next day. The estimated bill is always higher, and if you are not sharp eyed and just pay the bill, nPower has your money for 3 months. I always have to ring up with an accurate reading and they always have to re-bill me.

It happens so many times for it to be coincidence.

Thank you "kwicky" and "Gromit" for replying. It would appear that I am not alone in my dealings with this rouge company. My electricity meter has been read 3 times since mid Nov 2006 - and this includes two readings in April 2007, the 3rd, and the 13th! I received a bill dated 17th April 2007 that was estimated and was overestimated by more than 2000 units. I eventually managed to speak to someone in their call centre in Peterlee who was prepared to do something about it (or so I thought) but guess what, the amended bill was wrong again. I am now awaiting yet another review of my bills dating back to March 2006. I could go on for page after page (including the charges made against estimated readings on old electric meters that had been renewed a year earlier???) but will close this down now. Thanks again.
