Has anybody had problems switching their gas supplier to Npower? They told me today that although it's now 8 weeks since I gave them the go-ahead (and they confirmed this to me in writing) they have still not even contacted my current supplier to begin the process !! They said they've been having problems with "their systems". And I'll be out of pocket, too, as I'm obviously still on the recently-increased tariff of my present provider - an increase that made me want to change to Npower (their Dec 2017 Price Fix Tariff) in the first place......! Words fail me - I was beyond angry when I found out today

Sounds exactly the same as when I changed over last year, took many months to actually get changed over and start paying (their fault for not taking the money as and when they said they would ) Npower seems not to be able to cope with anything other than just supplying the power.

Thanks for the reply. I changed to Npower for electricity about a year ago, and they gave the wrong change-over reading to my previous supplier, eveen though I'd given them the correct one! Aaaaargh
I helped my mum transfer over to NPower (fixed price 2015) from BG. After an immediate confirmation it all went quiet for almost 4 weeks but she got confirmation last week that it would change this week so could she submit readings, so overall the time frame was under 5 weeks
I changed to npower in oct. It took about 5 weeks from phone call to start. But they did give me the day it would start.

Thanks, that's cheered me a little. But the woman I spoke to today said they'd have to start the process again from scratch - and wouldn't even assure me she could initiate things today!
My problems went on for so long they gave me a payment for basically being patient! I should have learned my lesson, and changed to another supplier when my contract ran out, instead of which I changed my tariff - at the beginning of October, and as yet they have still not changed over my direct debit to the one quoted by them. I received an email from them last week, requesting patience and giving their apologies for taking so long but I am not holding my breath for anything to change any time soon.
