Queuing in the chemist I could see a lady with two boisterous children trying to have a discussion with the pharmacist......the 3/4 year old certainly had ants in her pants...

Well...I thought....be nice G and occupy the little one so Mum can chat....I did....Mum nodded and smiled so little one and I explored all the bling and colourful things on display and discussed bubble bath.....she patted my hands....clung to my legs....we had a nice, if a bit too close, time....

Returning little one to Mum I heard....

Mum: So you think it is definitely chicken pox?

Pharmacist: Oh yes.....those spots are just coming out and she has a temperature.....

That'll teach me to mind my own business...... :-(

I had chicken pox when I was 40 years old and I will never forget it. My doctor said that only I lived on my own she would have put me into isolation at hospital. My friend called to visit on a bad day and she told me many years later that I actually looked like a monster - I had it every where - my face, body, legs and up my ferniculus. Terrible time. Say a wee prayer to God...

Conne.....I have given you a Best Answer in the hope that my kindness will protect my ferniculus.... :-)
Ach thanks Gness - truly hope you don't get it really and truly. Do think however when the spots are out - the virus is at an end.
Question Author
Well, Conne.....seems this child is still infectious....but it is rare to catch it twice and it doesn't seem you can develop shingles....anyway I have had a tea tree oil wash all over.....and had a word with St Martin de Porres......I have gone off St Theresa so he's my go to now....especially since I accidentally bid for a statue of him at an auction.....x
in our village if any child got an illness we were all sent to visit them .

The same in my childhood, Mally......measles parties etc..... :-)
Well done for your good deed. I hope you stay spot free.

Oh I do hope so, Marval......I had this mad urge to tan my very white Irish skin just a little.....I used Dove and all that happened was my skin stayed very white but my freckles went bright ginger...
All I need now on top of that is to develop red, crusty spots and I'll need to carry the equivalent of a leper bell.... :-(
Question Author
Yes...I've been itching, Tilly.....all in the mind but just as itchy....

Thanks, Mamya...... I hadn't considered that..... :-(

On reflection.....I think children are best avoided....x
