Have more to add re these - as you know I lost my debit card and was reimbursed with a new one maybe 2 weeks ago. Of course I have bought many things with the new card and always entered my new pin number - fine- just a half an hour ago I called to a butchers bought meat and he handed me payment slip - but I said but I haven't entered my pin number - no he said it was contactless.

Now I didn't enjoy my tea there - gulped it down- I never wanted contactless never - what happened there - would it help to go to Santander tomorrow and explain that I want my card to be "pinned". Thanks for any answer.

yes Mamy but when I look over these posts I have realised - big time - the card was taken off me brought to wherever machine was perched - then brought back to me to enter pin. As little as I know at the time I was a little uncomfortable but will remember in future never let the card get out of sight again - sign off muggins.
Good girl.

oh Mama - you are a geg (funny) - wish I was a wee girl - at over 60

Have a look at something like this, your card ca't be read unless you remove it!

Am I talking to you Baldric?????

you made me lose a lot of sleep last night - worrying about a bloody icon
Oh Jenny, hope you didn't take my comment wrongly, meant nicely.
What happened to Sycamore3House's friend is what bothers me about these cards. I don't mind whether I put in a number or not, but I am concerned that someone can pay for multiple purchases with my card before I even realise it's missing.

If you don't like my idea, ignore it, no probs.
Question Author
mamy took yours very nicely indeed - to be called a girl at 60 - that's lovely.
Question Author
agree Cloverjo
Baldric is helping you with his suggestion. If your card is troublesome cut/burn it & demand a more suitable card.
Question Author
tambo - if you would read the posts - it is all done and dusted re the cards.
Jj, am in a bad mood coz my room stinks of bouquets & hellium balloons (gifts instead of tips today). I prefer £s to waste as I like.

why is your birthday - if so happy birthday
Question Author
I hate flowers myself cos as my friend's granny used to say don't buy me flowers cos you can't eat them nor drink them for goodness sake.

blow the bloody balloons up - there was a bit of an alliteration for you.
Question Author
that is what I give for Xmas - all my nephews etc are all grew up and want the money badly. So it stops me from buying unnecessary presents.

Like the other day when the wee toddlers were up - they left some of the pressies behind - so NO pressie - money YES.
Not bday, theyre thankyou gifts. If the containers were filled with choc digestives & walnut cake I would be ecstatic but alas.
Question Author
Ah go out and buy them yourself.
My feet & hands are worn out and am toooo tired to shop. But am starving & dont like dog food......glum & woe is me :(
