I mind quite a lot actually.
He can fund his own dream of mimicking, and living as if, a female.
well its in the Daily Fail so it must be true - what a load of rubbish -even people who've lived in the UK all their lives can't just mosey up the the clinic and ask for their zizi to be cut off cos they wanna be a woman -there is more to this.
i think instead of being more to this, there's probably quite a lot less to this than meets the eye!
Im all for gender reassignment for those British that require it, I will not support those of other countries having it done at my expense!!
No one 'requires' gender reassignment its a choice. They can live as the opposite sex without having their gender changed surgically.
At least she needs to work for 12 months first, and maybe even will end up staying here and contributing back. A bit of a fuss over nothing, really, although she probably shouldn't have said that in the interview.
Meanwhile. Some of those who have lived and worked here all their life can dream on about being supplied with life enhancing cancer drugs that have been denied them because of cost. We can console ourselves that some medical berk said last week that cancer is a better way to die than most other deaths apparently.
I didn't think you could just get this done on the NHS. Sounds like she/he has heard that you can get this done and assume you just have to be here legally. I'm pretty sure that there are strict requirements you can't just do it on a whim even if you qualify by residency.
This story shows how youtube has evolved, it is now a serious platform for people to make newsworthy statements on. What can we expect next, pewdiepie to run for president?
If those are the rules, and she is not defrauding anyone, why is the Daily Mail picking on her.

Presumably, the stipulation that she works for a year means she will be paying tax, so some of that a least offsets the cost.

Surely the thing to do would be to campaign to get the rules changed if they disagree with it.
I think there are catches, such as in the UK you need to live for two (or maybe three) years as your preferred gender in public before being eligible, and then so many doctors might have to sign off on it -- although she might already qualify if she can prove she was living as a woman in the US, which it looks like she has. So the main hiccup she'll face is the year or so wait to qualify through having employment. Good luck to her, anyway.
He's quite pretty as a she though!
TTT...considering you can't get an abortion on the NHS without 2 independent doctors agreeing to it I think she has little to no chance of having a sex change.
