she had a distinguished political career after leaving Hollywood ("being thrown out" might be a better way of putting it; the studio dumped her once she grew up).

She was ever so cute. But there's something... just a little but creepy... about this clip, though.

Interesting thing that the was asked to star in The Wizard Of Oz but the company she was signed to wouldn't release her, so the part was given to Judy Garland, and ST's film career somewhat fizzled out.

She was top of the child stars at a time when there were either 10 000 competitors or 100 000 - all under five
pushy mother which causes problems later....

however as Shirley Temple Black she served as a senator (US) in the eighties
and then in an American version of 'jobs for the boys' - think Lord Smith ex culture minister now head of the envirnoment agency - US ambassador to Thailand I think

I dont know if Shirley or Mr Black was worth more (in zillions)
but think American nobility
