Tax rebate on laundry

I have been told that if the company I work for issues workwear that has a company logo on it that I launder at my expense I can claim a tax rebate.

i sent a letter which was avaliable on moneysavingexpert website, it allows you to earn £60 more per year without tax so amounts to approx £15 but you can backdate it for 6 years as long as you have worn a logo'd uniform which you can not wear in your own time. worth a go,but some work collegues were refused first time and had to send proof of logo on uniform.

I can't believe this! I buy my own clothes for work, sticking to a 'uniform' of black trousers (I need pockets to put keys in), flat black shoes (Clarkes, because I'm on my feet all day) and office wear tops (jumpers, blouses, cardigans etc) and then wash them myself. Now it seems that if I worked somewhere that provided me with the clothes to work in, so I wouldn't have to buy them myself, then I could also claim back the cost of washing them? You couldn't make it up!

I`m not sure the logo makes any difference. My dry cleaning allowance is incorporated into my tax code but I don`t have a logo on my uniform.
