What would be the best way to invest 5000 for 3 years to get the best return. I'm in Ireland by the way. I know that you can get a 8% return in 3 years in the post office or 16.5% in 5 1/2 years but is there any thing better out there. I would only be interested in risk free investment.

Where can you get 16.5% in 5 1/2 years?
Question Author
In the Post Office. Rep of Ireland.
Looks good in theory, but rubbish in reality:

That 16.5% over 5 and a half years is equal to 2.74% per annum - this is stated on their website.

As you are in the RoI you need to check out your local banks and building societies. In the UK it is not uncommon to get 10% per annum, but I have no idea about Ireland's rates.
