Onwards and Downwards Continues in June

Hi Everyone,

We were looking forward to the warm weather in last month's thread, well we got it didn't we?

Interested to hear about Jan's new wobbler and whether it does the job. Has anyone else done any unusual excercise recently or in the past and has it worked or was it just a bit of fun?

Here is last months thread

Welcome aboard Islasmum...you hit the nail on the head about needing inspiration when the novelty of loosing weight wears thin. This is our strong point that we can help you get focused again. I hope we will work for you.

5st 8!! Wow that's great, well done you :0)
Yes that is impressive. I've lost next to nothing in that time.

Well done to all who lost this week. Thought I'd just note that the scales were kind to me again today. I'm fairly sure it'll start reading higher again at some point, but for today it claims I've dropped into the next stone down. Been waiting for that for ages and ages; probably since around the start of the year.
Well done Old G you're getting there.

I did weigh this week but have only just found time to post that I remained the same. I must get going again and start losing as staying the same is no good to me. I'll blame the Queen and the elongated weekend. As much as I enjoyed the time off and all the celebrations, it didn't do much for the waist line! Onwards and downwards .......
Yes Maidup just like me I have stayed the same too long but we always find an excuse. I blame this miserable weather we are having.
Got a bargain exercise bike for flumppence on ebay this week. Did 25 minutes the first day, then the following day I read the instructions and set the resistance up correctly.......and managed 10 minutes!
Good Morning All,
Now I am back to my normal routine in the cold north. I weighed myself today and the result was far, far from satisfying. Oh do I have a lot to loose starting today. I had completely fallen by the wayside so on to the naughty step.
Congratulations to the rest of you who seem to be doing so well. I'll be here again on Wed. Onwards and downwards....
You and I both Xstitcher. Can you remember when we started all this over 2 years ago we were the prime examples. I lost 2 stone and you lost but now we are both stuck come on lets get back to showing an example. Onwards and Dowmward we go again
I'm with you there Wendilla...here we go !!!
It has just dawned on me that as I am away for a week I'll not be able to weigh and update for a while. So just to say at the last weighing I'd crept back up over that stone mark again (just). Ah well.

Commiserations to all on naughty step.
Hi OG I don't want to be on that step this week . Have a nice time where ever you are going.
That includes me OG. Have a nice time where ever you are going. We shall miss you.....our only man!!
I notice a lot of people talking about losing weight on other threads, someone even suggested an AB slimming club, so I invited them along to this thread. None of them have joined in yet, but I wonder if its in order to ask Ed to make the description a little clearer for new comers?

Its a lovely encouraging intro for those of us who know why we're hear but not so clear for non-members. What do you think? Shall I ask him to explain that its a thread for those trying to lose weight and that everyone's welcome?
Or would one of you founder members ask him?
^^ PS its been a good day today with no tempations (yet!) and despite the weather I've grown lots of mixed salad leaves which need regular picking and eating. I'm pretending summer's here even though its hard to.

Onwards and downwards.
I really think we should leave things as they are. We're not that hard to find as our "membership" shows. If we get more okay, but at the moment it is nice to be small enough to know each other. New people will always be welcomed of course without recuiting them. This is just my private opinion.
OK xstitcher fair point.

I have never been able to lose weight before and find this so helpful. The support and discipline of this thread has suited me perfectly and I tend to want others to be as successful!
Good for you with your weight loss, but it is you and only you that are doing it, but it's nice to be able to tell others that are interested, about it isn't it.
Hi Maidup I don't think we want to call ourselves a slimming club. Most of us just want ideas from others of what they do. What works for one doesn't work for others. Xstitcher and myself are not fully experienced enough to run this as a slimming club.
As you know it helps to come on here and tell what you have done wrong and you know you will do your best to rectify it for the following week. Things can get too technical so that is why we just like to run it like we are doing. We can keep track of people as we are doing at the moment.
Xstitcher started this two and a half years ago with just a simple question as to why people in later life should still keep up there appearances and someone replied back that at that age why would you worry then I replied to Xstitcher as no matter how old you are you should still take a pride in your appearance someting to that effect and it has gone on from there .
We have lost some gained some and lots keeping coming back.
I have lost 2 stone which I probably would not achieved but now struggling with a stone and I know if I did not keep in with these posts I would start to gain.
We already have the sticky thread on which the Ed gave us just over a year ago and he renews it for us every month.
Good luck for tomorrow and keep Onwards and Downwards.
Morning all

I've tried hard this week and specialised in checking the sugar content of foods. For example yoghurts. What a mine field! One low fat variety had 13g of sugar! grrr so I've settled for some soya yoghurts which are lowish in fat but not fat free and lowish in sugar. They're delicious too.

And I'm happy to have say I've lost another pound. Despite being at two all day events this week where I've had to eat the food provided. It was good food but not especially slimming. I've learned not to go hungry on these occaisions but to take a small portion and to try to walk round the block at lunchtime. Also learned not to let a day or two throw me out entirely. In the past I'd have given up after a bad day but although I did find the mini cakes impossible to resist, I'm over it again now!

Good luck for today and Onward and Downwards everyone.
Well done Maidup. I am back on track since sunday when I got back to my proper healthy eating. I have been on the slippery slope too long with staying the same. You mentioned yogurts. I have just chucked 4 in the bin which I thought were free.
When I lost the 2 stone last year I always made a point of having a treat once a week. I always try to do a weeks shopping so as I can calculate each days food and I write everything down.

I hope to have a good loss for next week. Onwards and Downwards
Well done Maidup and glad you're back on track wendilla. 1lb off this week but I am very happy with that as I have been out for a drink 3 times this week and had an Indian (although I chose the lowest syns possible according to my Slimming World books). Had a couple of wobble free days too as had a bad back but ok now and back on it today. Determined to get a bigger loss next week so will be very good and do lots of wobbling this week. Good luck all.
