ankou.....or you could accept the status quo.

ankou.....how does one fulfil one's emotional need? By that I presume you mean security?
Where's your pride? She's having an affair, you found out and things go on as normal. Lucky her - she must think all her Christmases have come at once.
sqad, you said 'because I supply the material things in life that she requires and he supplies her emotional needs.'

seeing your qestion above i can understand why she looked elsewhere. ok, so if everybody's happy with the status quo, then so be it. its your life.
She cheated on you...get rid...forget about the "We have to talk and work this out".
Question Author
ankou....fine.....but you haven't answered my question

"ankou.....how does one fulfil one's emotional need? By that I presume you mean security?"
"
sqad, it was you who referred to emotional needs, so i presumed the same as you.
In the situation you've outlined, there doesn't seem to be an immediate problem as everyone appears happy. If it changes so that someone is feeling like they're 'losing out' then I'd worry about it. It's not a set up I would like but each to their own.

CH....thanks.
Sqad is trying to make a point here, the situation is not necessarily factual....................

However, if you "don't want to upset the applecart" why ask for a divorce ? :o)
Question Author
TTG...you are quite right....she has to go.
if you "don't want to upset the applecart" why post this question ?
Sqad - do you have emotional needs ?
is this serious btw?
Question Author
jack....what one wants to do in life and what one should do are often two entirely different things.

Me trying to make a "non necessarily factual point"......how dare you Sir?
I would say, it depends on your age.
Question Author
peri.....don't we ALL have emotional needs?
I know Jack, I just genuinely don't see the problem... :c)

Mind you, that said, I read the other thread as well and didn't see the major problem there either.... They had an affair, wife forgave them, they miss the ex... I presume the latter is to be expected and it'll sort itself out in time. My opinions on the wife's attitude or indeed the blokes are just that, opinions... As long as she's in her happy place then I don't see the problem and he'll get over it eventually.

Personally I don't see the point in being with someone just for the sake of being with someone but fair dos if that's what floats your boat....
Question Author
CH....;-)
I think sqad is trying to push the benefits of infidelity again.....
yes - but you can fool yourself into thinking you are happy in a situation when you are just used to it - which is fine if thats what you want - I dont think anyone can tell someone what to do in their relationship -
If it starts like a wind up and reads like a wind up. perhaps.........
