hey, here's my dilemma, me and my girlfriend get on great, were committed, happy and love being with eachother, heres my problem, my girlfriend and i are both independant people but still have old fashioned views kinda, everyone says we're made for eachother, and we feel that way too, what i want to know how do i accept that im good enough the way i am and stop trying to impress too hard??? how do you accept you're good enough, i still want to do the romantic things and let her knw i appreciate and care for her, but by not always doing things for her and spending money wisely instead of wastin it on frivilous things. she's not spoilt by any means but i wanna not complicate things. i hope im makin sense...any advice would be welcomed...

Get a mortgage, that way you`re tied together for life and you won`t have any money to waste,

If she loves you like you say she does, just accept it and enjoy life
Well not to comliment things to much dont try too hard and if you want to be romantic but not spend money then go for evening walks somewhere nice beach/woodland walk etc and beforre you see her pick a nice flower from a garden just one i think is sweater than a whole bunch it shows its individually chosen and doesnt cost a penny.
And she wouldn't be with you if you weren't good enough for her or the right guy and being independent doesn't mean that traditional views can't stand up just give each other the space when you need it and talk about everything that way you know each other better but don't make it an awkward conversation though.
Got i wish my other half was like you :) carryon the way your going and remember that sometimes the most romantic things don't cost the earth..as long as you always appreciate each other then your on the right path.

thanks for your comments, they were really helpful...i think i kinda knw how do to do it now, i kinda did some of the things but was great too be reassured that theyre enough..
it's the thought that counts, not the money you spend on a gift. If possible when you want to buy her a present try to get her something you know she'll like - very often we get other people something we sort of llike ourselves rather than something the recipient wants. This means knowing her well, knowing her tastes, knowing her shape (if you want to buy clothes, for instance - tricky business, that, and I'd avoid it). But as leapers says, sometimes a freshly picked flower is better than a diamond.
