This guy I have known, and met recently, why does he want to be in my company and be deceitful behind his partners back ? They dont live together though. I just find it very odd, he says she is 101% genuine and the nicest person he has ever known, yet what is he doing that she doesnt know about ?

I did when I was younger because I didn't know any different. Since then life has been a rollercoaster. Still not sure if I was happier when content but disinterested.

Maybe because they have their bills paid by this other person. Or they are getting their passion elsewhere. All kinds of reasons. There are probably millions not in a good relationship but inertia sets in!

RockyRacoon, I think you have hit the nail on the head here! Im not naive but he wont get anything from me...they will say anything if it will get them what they want. Probably just a relationship that has gone stale and he needs to grow a pair if he wants to change things.

its a common trick cheaters do to make you feel extra special - and to hint as though he may think you are 'the one' - in order to twist you round his little finger -
he will moan that she doesnt understand him, and he just doesnt feel the same any more ... hes made a terrible mistake getting involved with her - he thought he loved her until he met you... because now he knows what 'real ' love is .... but he's trapped by it all and shes just too nice and he simply cant leave her because she'll be upset and he cant do that to her ... even though its you he really loves ...
