Why does this activity appear to be such a favourite amongst the many alien life forms that allegedly visit this planet? Why not the ear or another bodily orifice of the abductee?

They may think it is an orifice that is used for something else.
Twice yearly I go into Tübingen and a doctor sticks his finger up my bum. My health insurance pays the bulk of the cost this activity and I pay 20€. I have aways hoped he gains no pleasure from this - I certainly do not - but now I wonder if he is in fact an alien!
If he's taking pleasure from it he should be paying you the €20
if it takes him about 15 minutes, i would guess he enjoys it.
Shameless just stole your storyline, snags ;o)
Conspiracy theorists who love to assume that aliens will arrivve on a ship and abduct people for said probings are paranoid.

Fear of planetary invasion is a very short step from fear of physical invasion, and since the vast majority of these people are men, the one thing they seriously dread is the thought of an involuntary rectal probing, so they assume that this is what any self-respecting alien will do.

It's about as likely as aliens actually arriving in saucers (why?) and always arriving in rural Kansas, instead of touching down on Sunset Boulevard.

It takes a few seconds' thought to ponder if aliens are already here? They have no phyiscal form, they communicate with light, they find us uninteresting, and they are simply looking around before deciding we are not worth their time and moving on.

i remember reading a short story about a young radio ham who picked up a message from an alien ship advising that they were invading, and earth should prepare to surrender to their conqueorers.

In fact, when the ship landed in Hackney Marshes it sank without trace - it was only twelve inches long, and the crew, bacteria sized, all perished.

It's another thought isn't it?
i doubt many have a fear of their bums! what a daft suggestion

fear of it being probed ...then yes id say many do...
joko - to whom is your answer directed please?
