My husband is on Lisiniprol for high blood pressure. He's know been prescribed a diuretic called Bendroflumethiazide as well.I find his very concerning as he's only 53 - will he have to stay on both these drugs long term. thanks in advance
That is standard and acceptable treatment for hypertension and yes, this may well be a lifetime treatment depending upon routine and regular assessments.
I'm on Benny's (nick name) too, have been for years. I had a break (trial) for a couple of months and my feet & legs became very swollen, I had to go back on them.Ever since things are fine. Don't worry about it, its for his good.
As Sqad says - those medications are standard treatment for high blood pressure. Better being on the tablets and having regular checks than not on them and risking a stroke or heart disease!
My husband is on these too for high blood pressure, has been for at least 8 years now, he doesn't take any duretics though, he's 60 now, still working, has a very demanding job, but is very fit and well!.........they seem to be working well for him thankfully!.......
