I have been diagnosed with the above in my shoulder - it is v painful - can feel it up my neck and down my arm. Has anyone any advice as to exercises or remedies. I would be so grateful!
who diagnosed it and what did they suggest? If your GP then you can ask for a referral to a physiotherapist or if you can afford it, then see a private sports physio...cost 40 to 70 quid for the consultation and a bout the same or a bit less per treatment.
Did she talk to you about pain relief? Did you go to her through a doctor?
generally helpful is either warmth or cold. A bag of frozen peas wrapped on a towel and placed on the epicentre of the pain, or a hot water bottle likewise, or you can get heat and cold pads at the chemist now. Are you using any painkillers?
Yes- doing all these things. Some days it's not too bad then it suddenly gets worse. I was v active aerobics swimming and so on but have had to stop, it just makes it worse, and it's my right arm!
YES !!!!!! stop all those things till the pain subsides and till you find out what caused it. Keep the arm and shoulder moving gently and cease all forms of vigorous exercise till it improves
i've had rotator cuff tendonitis - very very painful. One wrong move of the head, or even the foot can be excrutiating!
My thoughts are with you midagetrolop.
I can only advise you to take the all drugs they offer - and be very patient.
Mine took a long time to go - but it WILL go.
I have stopped all sports some time ago and rested it, but it's not getting any better. The physio diagnosed it and I have had ultrasonics and massage, which did relieve it a little, am taking painkillers occasionally, but don't like taking them often if I can manage without. Just thought somebody might have some ideas. I know it can last for some time because I had plantar fasciatis some years ago and it took about 18 months before it went completely.
