Gas charges recovered.

A nice young gentleman called yesterday just as I was on my way out.
He asked who my gas supplier was, and when I told him Eon he told me they were guilty of overcharging their customers for gas (not electricity) and he would help me get money back from them.
Has anyone else heard of this?

my guess would be sales technique to get you to change suppliers, or he just heard about the 'benefits' of working at crafty's and decided to try his luck........

I had British Gas come and see me (I'm with EON too) and he said EON are charging you a standing charge that they still take even if you are away on holiday and not using any gas. British gas do not do this, if you do not use gas then there is no extra charge.
He didn't say anything about getting any money back from EON though.

interesting, the Eon rep told me they do not have standing charges unlike the Co I'm with. (Scottish Power for both gas and electric)

Aye! Used to be the quickes tequila downer around too when we did the salt, lemon and lime thing. And I don't pass out straight away either so limited flooding damage.

Eon do not have standing charges. You pay only for the gas you use. As I don't use gas at all in the summer my gas bill is zero for 4 or 5 months of the year. The gas is cheaper than BG too, with the plan I am on.
