Muscle Gain

Hi All
I workout at home, I've never been a fan of gyms.
I know all the basics, what to eat and when, how to push myself, ect, ect.
What I want to know is what is considered good muscle gain? I measured myself 3 months ago and now I have put 2 inches on my chest and 1 inch on my arms in 3 months, I'm not that impressed to be honest but is a good gain in 3 months?
