I've been suffering a lot recently with anxiety and depression and my GP has suggested giving Hypnotherapy a try along with my counselling. It's not something i'd ever have considered, and i really don't know where to begin or what to expect. A quick look on yell.com shows there are quite a few hypnotherapists in my area, but those that have their own website don't go into much detail about the cost of sessions etc. has anyone else had any experience of hypnotherapy (and not the tacky stage show kind) that could give me any advice on how much it costs, what to expect, etc? Many Thanks!

Hypnosis can be very helpful in people who suffer from anxiety, the patient is usually taught techniques on how to relax when in a situation that would normally cause distress.Ask your GP to recommend a reputable hypnotherapist for you, they should have someone who they have referred to before.

hi pink, i rate hypnotherapy very highly, i found my therapist locally i suffered from anxiety and anger and cried buckets, didnt think the first session much made any difference, he was just trying to assess me, second session fantastic, he took me into my inner self, spoke some statements to me, i felt like i was coming out of a vortex so many different colours, now eveyday for 5 minutes i self meditate,he said i had to focus on the chair i sat on in the room,it was made of wood his office, and honestly i could smell the wood while mediating, its made me so calm, anger has subsided, it cost me £40 per session, and only had 2 sessions money well spent!!!
