Christening Present!

Hey all,

Next Sunday is my OH nephews christening and we want to get something special aswell as practical.

There are a lot of little things that you can get traditionaly, but dont want to do that as he may end up with many of them!

My fella has had the idea of setting him up some kind of account (bank account or something like that) that we can pay say £10 or £20 into each month for him. I like this idea, but is it possible for us to do it as a surprise, or will his sister need to know to be there say when we set up the account? I know I had a post office savings account from when I was born but that was done by my parents so not sure if we could do it?

We would also like to give him something material wise if you know what I mean, but are unsure on that to!

Any one any ideas, or ideas on something we could do that is extra special?

Ta!

Photography places do some lovely gifts nowadays like canvas wraps, teddies with your own photo and text on the front, engraved photo frames, acryllic prints, photo panels, photobooks, crystal ornaments...

I like to give books as a Christening present as they are something that can be enjoyed for years to come, and they are a little more practical than the christening mug type of present. I tend to buy a series of books, eg The Narnia series. Actually the last christening I went to I bought the Far Away Tree series by Enid Blyton (there are three books, the Enchanted Wood, The Magic Faraway Tree and The Folk of the Faraway tree).
