no sleep

hi all, my mom had a hysterectomy 5 weeks ago and since she has had it she cannot sleep. she has not had a full nights sleep in 5 weeks. is this connected to having the operation. she has been to the doc and they gave her some sleeping tablets but they dont work.
has anyone any advice?

Did they give her HRT? Or has she started having hot sweats which can be worse at night?

they gave her nothing and yes she has hot sweats
