We know drugs do effect people but i get annoye by folk ranting on about how its ok to take recreational drugs they dont do you any harm.Others even go to the extreme of saying prescribed drugs are more dangerous!!!!Only if misprescribed or wrongly used ,We all know you can get addicted to prescribed drugs. But those folk who say about that then say 2 but i only smoke some weed .ive done it since i was 15.im x years old now .its not done me any harm"then you read " While small amounts of marijuana can leave the user with a pleasant sense of being high and relaxed, long term use can have negative effects. Anxiety and paranoia are commonly reported side effects of long term or large quantity users. Also, restlessness, confusion and forgetfulness have been reported. Long term use can also lead to a decrease in sex drive and a low sperm count in men."
Or how about a little speed its harmless too?" Speed is the street name for a group of amphetamines which include "crystal meth", "ice" and "goey". The most common way to take the drug is to snort or inject it, but it can also be taken by swallowing or shafting (putting it up your bum). People who inject should use clean syringes and not share other injecting equipment to minimise the transmission of HIV and Hepatitis C."

Im afaraid i have to side against using illegal drugs .As they are illegal and i think that people going around singing their praises are follish.Teenage britain is in a bad enough state without needing some old druggies saying "take some its harmless.theyre not addictive .ive only beenn smoking 10 or 15 years on the hash.but i could stop anytime .honest"Like were that stupid we believe a druggie??

Junkies are all drug users!! In which case, all people who drink alcoholic are useless alcoholics, with nothing better to do with their lives other than drink, cause fights and batter their wives on a sunday.

WHy do you bring driving into it? No one has justified it as they wouldn't justify drink driving. I don notice the antidrugs lot on here are the hang em high, antiimmigrant brigade
I've infrequently tried weed, ecstacy, cocaine, speed and mushrooms over the years. Maybe a couple of spliffs a month in social company, and on the occasional night out perhaps a pill or some cocaine, about 3-4 times a year. I drink socially every single week and have done for the last 6-8 years. I never smoke, and never have done. These are the drugs that enter my body, and I can say that I have never been drunk or on drugs behind the wheel of a car. I've also never ever been in a fight of any sort, and have a strong moral compass. What is wrong with me taking those substances every now and again, when i'm totally responsible with them? Sure, there may be plenty of irresponsible users, but this is also true of alcohol, driving, gambling, pet ownership and countless others. If we are prepared to nanny people with drugs, then why not everything?
I've taken drugs recreationally, never been in a fight, never got nicked, never caused a problem, whats the issue???

Your the issue Rever.

And people wonder why the word ''DOPE'' is branded about

I rest my case ''druggie''
Nick because its ILLEGAL..... a bit like leaving your handbag on show in a car! blah blah blah Of course Nick you will be selling Grandmas silver soon to fund your huuuuge habit.
Sorry Laurence but it looks like you're always going to be cut off from the real world completely if all the information your brain is capable of assimilating comes from watching police propaganda programmes warning of the perils of the casual drug user, and the lenths that these scum will go to to rob your mother and rape your daughters! I deplore of narrow minded simpletons who try to tell me what to do. Read any good pop-up books recently son?
You muppets {drug takers} are the ones who encourage drugs to be brought illegally into this country.

Its as if your also proud to have/still be taking drugs, its as if its a society today thing to do with some of you, lets just hope your all single and have no responsibilitys ie children, tho i suspect some of you have.

Roll Models? don't make me laugh

Jeremy Kyle wannabee guest absolutely

I don't give a rats ar$e if ''YOU'' takes drugs, remember who picks up the pieces?

Are you going to quote me some facts like you did last week, well save it. As for the rest who take drugs, what a sad bunch of pathetic ''LOSERS'' you are, or are you losers, maybe this is the best you can offer
I surprised this discussion maintained the level of civility for as long as it did.

Here's to a mature discussion on drug taking and the balanced approach to debate.
Yeah and what can you offer Laurence? Ill founded, poorly researched, and facsist opinions about something you've never known or tried? I suspect you are just jealous that nobody trusts you enough to have you in their company when they get high, perhaps that's the real problem with society? People like you raining on everyone elses parade because you're jealous you've never reached enlightenment. I don't advocate drugs but I don't think you have a right to torment, put down or question anybody elses personal choices.
The only thing that doesn't sit well with me, and I'll admit it, is that I don't want to be a part of a trade that causes harm to vulnerable people, particularly at the start of the chain where drugs are created and exported, in often brutal climates. People tend not to think about that when they're popping a pill in a club. But then I suppose we don't often think about where our food and colthes come from either.

That's 'clothes' by the way. My motor skills have been destroyed by ketamin ;)
lol @ Supernick, I bet that keyboard looks massive!
S.Boy

I don't mix with ''druggies'' full stop, because i would'nt want to be in anyones company that do drugs be it ''hash'' outside the local pub or some recreational drug get together party.

Jealous? are you for real.

People would'nt trust me enough to have them in their company when they get high? explain.

Enlightment = Drug taking pmsl

I strongly believe that your a heavy user of drugs hence the resentment of me, you ''lonely'' sad individual, i feel sorry for you to a degree, you need help mate, I'm not the ''druggie'' here, just read the post again through tho's hazy eyes of yours

Jealous pmsl

What a muppet
my neighbour across the street smokes cannabis, he normally goes beserk after a few spliffs, he has wrecked his flat several times and his wife has had him taken away by the police. she normally smokes spliffs as well.

They are having their 2 children taken into care next week.
what is it all for?? ..oh yeah gettin high, I suppose a wrecked childhood is a small price to pay, after all it doesnt harm anyone does it.

I don't mix with ''druggies'' full stop, because i would'nt want to be in anyones company that do drugs be it ''hash'' outside the local pub or some recreational drug get together party. - That's because you don't know anyone!

Jealous? are you for real. - Yes, very much so.

People would'nt trust me enough to have them in their company when they get high? explain. - People want to be around nice people when they get high, you are blatently an arse that nobody would like to share their good times with.

Enlightment = Drug taking pmsl - I've been misinterpretted on this point, I meant that you are unenlightened in the realm of drug use, I didn't mean that drugs were the key to enlightenment.

I strongly believe that your a heavy user of drugs hence the resentment of me, you ''lonely'' sad individual, i feel sorry for you to a degree, you need help mate, I'm not the ''druggie'' here, just read the post again through tho's hazy eyes of yours - I don't resent you and never have, I think you are a nasty opinionated piece of work that has such low self esteem he feels the need to put down the same people as the tabloids use as scapegoats for all society's problems, I'm afraid it's probably you that needs help, perhaps some form of concilling would work for you? I am not lonely, I have many friends; and I am not a heavy drug user either, so wrong on all counts!

Jealous pmsl

What a muppet - yes indeed, I'm surprised you can even spell it!
Oh yeah, I have 2 kids! Who have never even seen me smoke. They stay at granny's over night if I want so much as a drink. Laurance I suspect you may have known someone who has led a sad life through drugs hence your extreme opinions. I have known a couple of addicts come out of it okay and I have a cousin who is now a paranoid schizophrenic through drug abuse. Although he was that way inclined anyway.... Please answer me why is it worse to take drugs once in a while than to be a life long alcoholic.

Nick is one of the nicest guys on here, hes level headed and treats everyone with respect. Something a lot of the never use are incapable of doing. Look at Skreech, he is far more tolerant than you. If you ever have kids, your uninformed views will have them running to try it.
Oh and the people I mentioned above werent using drugs once in a while, they were addicted. I cannot abide heroin as I have seen a lot of heartache for children. Then again alcohol has wrecked some parts of my family.
Your right on the ''tolerant'' bit about me, i don't tolerate drug use full stop.

I do have kids {Goodsoulette} so don't question me about uniformed issues and them running to try it, i'm not the one who dumps my kids to grannys so you can feed your filthy habit?

S.boy.

I will stick to my previous post, your postings show all the signs of a drug user, My 14 year old has just read this thread {nothing illegal with that} and he thinks your bitter because someone questions drug taking, you glorify drug taking in my eyes, and you believe i ''need help''. still they say druggies like you can't see you have a problem, i'm nasty? maybe your right, maybe your wrong, but i'm not a drug addict like ex-amount of you on here, something you'll never be able to say.

Addict = one who dependent on, finds it ''IMPOSSIBLE '' to give up, A ''HABIT'' & a vice etc eg drug taking, so i rest my case with recreational drug use or just ''hash'' muppet
I think the problem is that some people can handle some drugs (e.g marijuana, alchohol) and not get addicted and others do, problem is you never know which you are until you do it, i have friends who smoke a joint occasionally and are fine, its not a big part of their life, they can take it or leave it and it doesn't bother them, conversely I had (notice the word HAD) a friend who started off the same as my other friends, did well at college, worked hard to travel the world and had loads of big plans for his future, in a matter of months, he'd quit his job, had a running tab in excess of 200 to his dealer and was smoking weed like people smoke cigarettes and had basically become a complete waster and was pumping his friends and family for cash to feed his habit, his behaviour caused the breakdown of our 10 year friendship and I haven't seen him for over a year now and as far as i'm aware he's still smoking weed every day.
I do not take drugs except for alcohol. When I was on my 'safe' prescription medication and drank alcohol, even small amounts, I became an absolute nutcase and a serious danger to myself. I have nursed both drug addicts and alcoholics. Whilst the drug addicts were more devious and didnt know the meaning of the word 'truth', the alcoholics detoxing were the most foul, abusive and dangerous people I ever met in my life. They regularly assaulted staff, but that was ok because they had an 'illness'. When I am speaking about drug addicts I am speaking about heroin abusers and crack heads.

As a student I worked in a bar, in a rough area of the city. Regular fights, the place got smashed up, police called on a regular basis. My boss also had a club upstairs, playing hard-house music and attracting the so-called recreational drug takers. As far as I knew, taking Es, speed, coke, MDMA etc (just a few names I heard being mentioned). I also worked the bar in this place. Never any trouble, everyone seemed chilled out and you would get the odd person every few weeks in a bit of a bad way in the toilets (panic attack type symptoms, and my student nursing skills came in handy!) A bit of fresh air and they were fine. Compare this with the pub downstairs with people hitting each other the head with bar stools or vomiting, urinating or worse all over the toilet floors. I know where I preferred working! Thanks for reading my wee story lol :)
