Hi, does anyone know about collapsed metatarsal arch and running. someone i know has been told that they have to give up running due to this and basically running is his life (out of work) - he has pain in the sole of the foot and the consultants only suggestion is to wear foot pads (which he already does). We are convinced that if there were not so many cutbacks he would have got an op for this - just wonder if anyone else has the same problem and if so how or what do you do to relieve the pain.

There's not much hope, I'm afraid. Pads appear to be the only solution according to this.
